Frequently Asked Questions

What do you work on?

Brand identity, websites, and product interfaces, print and campaign work, and the environments around an event. Plus the operational side that keeps all of it consistent once it ships.

Are you open to full-time roles?

Yes. Sixteen years across agencies, in-house teams, and my own practice. Most recently as Associate Creative Director at HMP Global, where I ran a team across oncology and wound care. Based in Baltimore, and open to remote.

What are you like on a team?

I have led designers and I have been the only one, and the habits are the same either way. I write things down. What I hand over is documentation, not knowledge in someone's head. I would rather show a rough build than describe a finished one.

How do you approach new work?

Discovery first: a conversation about the business, the audience, and what has to be true for the work to succeed. Then strategy, design, and a plan with checkpoints you can hold me to.

Can you redesign an existing website or product?

Yes. I start by auditing what is working. Then I rebuild around what the business needs now. The redesign carries forward the parts your customers already trust.

How long does the work take?

Scope decides it. A focused identity is weeks rather than months. An identity with a built site alongside it is longer. You get a range before anything starts, and the first word if it moves.

How do you keep the work usable and accessible?

Real content early. Contrast and type sizes checked against WCAG, and keyboard and screen reader passes on anything interactive. Testing on actual devices before it goes live.
